My Entryway Table Reveal!

Hi Friends! We’ve been here for 2 and half years now and I finally put together an entry way table! I am so happy with how it all turned out! I really wanted it to be the first thing that catches your eyes when you first walk in! So it was important to find a beautiful gold ornate french mirror! (I love all things french btw!) I picked this one because of it’s wide width which balances the length of the console table. And I also needed it to fit the height of the wall underneath the stair rails so it was the perfect choice! Plus most people like to look in the mirror when they first get ready to walk out the house to double check themselves! I was on the hunt for weeks for a big white oversized vase to put on this table to make a big over the top floral arrangement! Everything was just too expensive and I just didn’t want to spend that much! So one day, I happened to be in a home Potterybarn store shopping when I saw this one! I checked the price and couldn’t believe it was marked down on clearance! So it came home with me! Such a nice score!! I have seen this gold eye glass accessory many times while shopping in HomeGoods but never had a need to pick it up! When I thought about it again, I decided it would be a perfect styling accessory to use on this console table. So I went back to hunt for it and it was no where to be found! The lesson of the day would be whenever you are in a store like Home Goods and you see something you like you go grab it because it is not guaranteed the next day! When I picked the white marble table lamp, I wanted something that was a little bit contemporary to balance out the the traditional french styled table! What do you all think friends?! Did I hit it out of the park with a french glam entry way?! XO!

My Kitchen Accessories

I like to think I took my time when styling my white kitchen when we first moved in! I didn’t want to clutter the countertops just to decorate. I like to be intentional on where I place things yet it feels collected over time. I tend to gravitate towards mostly vintage type look, french, traditional accessories and with an added touch of contemporary to keep a space feeling young and fresh! I chose this pair of gray tone wood boards to compliment all the gray and white tones in the kitchen space. I love white or light pink flowers so I went with faux Hydrangeas for low maintenance. It always feels so cheerful to have pretty flowers in a living space don’t you agree? Using a beautiful round beaded tray keeps pretty tchotchkes looking contained and less like clutter. My brass framed art (sorry it is now sold out!) sits on an acrylic easel to be displayed! Another suggestion is that you can always order a beautiful oil painting from a talented artist Etsy (I love supporting small businesses!) and buy a brass frame from a store! I love my dutch oven so much that I wanted to permanently display it on my stovetop! So not only it is functional it is also beautiful to look at! I’ve linked everything below for you and what might be sold out, I’ve linked something hopefully similar! Thanks for stopping by friends! XO!

My All White Dream Kitchen!

When I was a teenager I used to skim through all of my grandmother’s Better Homes and Garden Magazines whenever I would come to visit her! It was through those magazines that showed me that I wanted an all white classic kitchen! It was clean, beautiful, traditional and timeless! Twenty-five years later, an all white classic kitchen is still to this day is in style! I love surrounding our house in the color white because it’s uplifting in moods and always feels fresh! When we chose to build with Drees Homes, we chose the Clarity 2 package that had all of the kitchen upgrades we wanted! I am so glad we chose to extend the kitchen cabinetry all the way up to the ceiling! It really shows how tall our ceilings are and gives it that custom look without breaking the bank! When we did the backsplash, I knew I wanted a glossy white subway tile! It’s pretty and always looks polish! Plus subway tile is inexpensive! As for the kitchen countertop, I always wanted the classic white Carrara marble but was fearful of the high maintenance factor of it! Especially since we have three young children so we chose the easy maintenance and durability of white quartz! I love the fresh clean look of it and the light gold veining that has the imitation of white marble! For flooring we chose LPV, Luxury Plank Vinyl in the color Flint Gray. I love the taupe color tone of the flooring and it really brings out all of the light grays and white in our interior finishes. At our old house, we used to have real hardwood floors and it saw a lot of scratches on it! In the morning sunlight we could see the many scratches on it! It drove me absolutely crazy! So I knew I didn’t want to do real hardwood floors this time so we went with the LPV for scratch resistant. Best design decision ever because it has held up to the mass destruction that is my wild 4 year old son! LOL! We’ve been here 2 1/2 years now and it still looks brand new! I absolutely love it! Sources are linked below for you if you are choosing to build with Drees home or renovate your own home! XO!

Mudroom

Hello friends! I hope everyone is having a great week! Last weekend the weather was a glorious eighty degrees and we spent most of it outside watching our kids play in the kiddie pool! Then at night we did a bonfire and movie night with friends! Oh these are the days! Don’t you agree? I also finally got around to uploading photos of our mudroom to do a blog post for you! When we were building this house we did not have a mudroom built in cabinetry base because well we were trying to stay under budget! We decided that we would finish this section out later once we moved in! We hired out our good friend and contractor Damian and had him custom build this white cabinetry to match everything that was in our kitchen! Then my husband and I together put up a peel and stick wallpaper as a focal point of the mudroom. Hung our wall mirror and magnetic board for the kids many artwork! I even re-used a wooden tray from our old house to put our daily mail in there to help contain countertop clutter. That cute shopping bag is where I store all of our masks during this pandemic! So cute and functional! My kind of design! Haha! To hold and store all of my three kids’ many hats, gloves and scarves under the mudroom bench, I bought 3 separate individual baskets for each kid! I love that this mudroom turned out so functional yet aesthetically pleasing to the eye! I’ve tagged everything below from this mudroom design including the paint color to the door for your next project! Happy shopping!

Spring Front Porch Refresh!

By Posted on 0

After a very long winter, our front porches tend to look dirty and very worn out! Especially the porch mats! I decided to switch it up by replacing the black and white layer rug and welcome mat. I then picked Frontgate’s Cabana stripe in green and then had it monogrammed in our last name. I felt that it was the perfect color for spring, don’t you agree? Next I moved onto the wreaths! I needed two and it can get quite expensive with double front doors especially when you go up in wreath diameter sizing. After scouring the internet for the perfect spring wreaths that had pink in it, I came up empty. I did find an inspiration wreath from PotteryBarn that I really liked but the diameter was just too small and the price tag too high! I then decided to order two simple green wreaths and customize it to my own liking! They arrived and looked even better than I expected! I added multiple faux flowers in different colors and weaved it into my wreaths. Once I was satisfied with the results, I then tied a bow on both wreaths using vibrant pink satin ribbons to make it pop against the black double front doors! It turned out so perfect and I am so pleased with how pretty they both turned out! Don’t you agree? The lighted faux topiaries balls I already had from Christmas and decided to keep them there for the summer! There’s just something about having soft ambiance lighting outdoors in the summer nights and I felt they would be beautiful if I just kept it there! The black urns I’ve had for years! Such a great classic shape! Last is the black lanterns that I shopped on a end of the year summer sale, two years ago from Pier 1 imports! They discontinued it but I will link similar options for you! Inside the lanterns I have multiple battery operated candles and added twinkle lights inside as well! I went back and forth on turning the battery operating candles inside the lanterns and turning on the battery operated twinkle lights. I felt that both was too much so for the summer, the twinkle lights are just the perfect amount of ambiance lights! Friends, I’ve listed all the shopping links below to help you create your perfect spring porch refresh! XOXO!
